The NoMa Campus is a close-knit family of dedicated team members. We are proud of the close relationships we build with our scholars and their families.

The small size of the school community enables small class sizes, frequent individual and small-group instruction, and a keen sense of safety and order.

We also provide a wide range of enrichment and experiential learning experiences that reinforce our curriculum, and create fond, lifelong memories for our scholars.

Students are provided with numerous opportunities to stay engaged and to develop socially, emotionally, and physically. We offer after-school STEM programming, music, dance, photography, art, intramural sports, chess, and more. Students participate in gardening and nutrition classes via Washington Youth Garden, study drama to bring Text Alive! with the Shakespeare Theatre Company, and learn oratory skills through The Oratory Fellowship with Ford’s Theater. We also provide mentoring for middle school students through a partnership with the Institute for Creative Community Initiatives and therapeutic counseling services through a partnership with AprilMay.

We fully embrace parents as partners and teach our students the value of giving back to their communities. We engage parents through events and celebrations, frequent communication and home visits, and individual meetings focused on their student’s academic needs. Students engage in the community by participating in service learning projects, such as raising awareness about Breast Cancer and encouraging everyone to exercise their right to vote via the Voter Registration Drive. Our NoMa Campus, which we affectionately call “Tigerland,” strives to be the pride of the NoMa community!
