Three Center City PCS Campuses Recognized by DC Public Charter School Board for Outstanding Student Outcomes

Earlier today, the DC Public Charter School Board (PCSB) formally released results from their 2014 Performance Management Framework (PMF). Center City Public Charter School is pleased to announce that our Brightwood, Congress Heights, and Shaw campuses achieved the highest rating (Tier 1) on the PMF.

Center City PCS is proud of our Principals and the dedicated and amazing group of teachers and staff for this accomplishment. The Principals are:

Shavonne Gibson, Brightwood Campus; Niya White, Congress Heights Campus; Demetria Gartrell, Shaw Campus

The Congress Heights campus received additional accolades, both at the PCSB event this morning and in the press, for becoming the first charter school to ever move from Tier 3 up to Tier 1 status on the PMF. We are extremely proud of the Congress Heights team.

We thank everyone in the Center City PCS family who contributed to these strong outcomes for the students and families we serve.

According to Russ Williams, President & CEO of Center City PCS, “The recognition from today’s DC Public Charter School Board PMF announcement validates our focus on the instructional core. Our renewed focus on strengthening the quality of our curriculum (what we teach) and instruction (how we teach) is paying off in strong outcomes for students. We look forward to continuing to build on these results across our network.”
