As part of The White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African-Americans (Initiative), Center City Shaw students were able to attend aAfAmEdFilms AfAmWomenLead Screening event highlighting women and girls of color. In honor of Women’s History Month, the Initiative screened “A Ballerina’s Tale”, which documents the career of Misty Copeland and her rise to the prestigious ranks of classical ballet.

On Friday, March 11th from 1:30 – 4:30 PM, Center City Shaw students took part of the event at the Motion Picture Association of America. Prior to that, our students enjoyed lunch out as part of the experience.
