Center City Brightwood dance teacher, Princess Mhoon, took two of our scholars to the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans’ Student Summit on December 9th. Students participated in a day of mentoring and learning that demonstrated how we all have the power to be great and to affect change. The students heard from young entrepreneurs who talked about how they started their businesses and managed challenges. They also met many African American women leaders who shared their experiences in fields such as the media, STEM, and advocacy. It was a terrific experience for our students!
